Today Television presenter Liezel van der Westhuizen will be heading to Knysna for the PicknPay Knysna Oyster Festival where with the help of the public, she will be helping to donate bikes to the Knysna Sport School by getting on the stationary Like Bike at the Festival and contributing by cycling metres.
The first Like Bike was launched at the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour this year with Liezel who took part in the tour “fuelled” by “likes” on their Facebook page. The number of likes she received, allowed her to move a further 10km. When the campaign came to an end, 20 bikes were donated to the Velokhaya Cycling Academy in Khayelitsha.
Keen to take part this time around and join in the fun with Liezel in Knysna?
Find the Like Bike at the Pick n Pay stand at the Nedbank Pavilion in Knysna, and get on one of the Like Bike-branded spinning bikes. Every 100km accumulated equals a bike for the less fortunate – and you get the chance to beat your friends by being top of the leader board.
Here’s how it works:
Jump on the Like Bike and take your 3-minute slot to accumulate as many kilometres as possible.
Get your pic taken, choose a fun background and complete your details in the booth.
Check the leader board and keep an eye on your phone – we’ll send you picture to share with your friends on Facebook and Twitter (@PicknPay#LikeBike).
Enjoy the rest of the Oyster Festival, knowing you’ve help to donate a bike to someone who’d really appreciate it.
