South Africa: One of the hottest celebrities in town, Liezel van der Westhuizen will be swopping the spotlight of the stage, radio, catwalks and television, this Sunday for what could prove to be one of her toughest assignments yet... competing in the toughest one day endurance event – The Ironman.

The gorgeous Liezel will be ditching her designer outfits and the microphone for a wetsuit and triathlon kit when she competes in the 6^th edition of the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa in Port Elizabeth. The Ironman comprises of a 3.8km sea swim which is then followed by a 180km cycle and a 42km run.

Having received the daunting task of being the new face for Season 5 of M-NET Idols - and only the second woman in the world to present the programme – last year, Liezel not only took the country by storm with her finely-tuned, warm and hugely likeable presenting skills, but showed she is always up for a challenge.

A characteristic which will stand her in good stead as she lines-up alongside some of the country’s leading triathletes and hundreds of other fun-loving sport enthusiasts in Port Elizabeth on the 25 April 2010.
